A man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly buying and selling Viagra on the Internet, a police report says.
The man, who is described as 18, was in possession of sildenafil and a prescription for Cialis at 2:45 a.m. on Dec. 17 and had been directed to do so by a doctor.
The doctor told the man that he had been buying and selling Viagra on the Internet.
The man, who was not named, was taken into custody and is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
The report says the man bought and sold Viagra from a store on Jan. 2, 2010, the same day that a local doctor told the man that it was "illegal" to sell it on the Internet.
He was also taken to a police station where the man allegedly told the woman on Jan. 25 that he was buying and selling Viagra on the Internet, the report says.
According to the report, the man allegedly bought the Viagra on the Internet from a store on Jan. 2, 2010, the same day he was arrested.
The police say the man also took a prescription for Cialis from the same pharmacy as the man.
"The woman was not arrested for her illegal act," said local Police Chief Eric A. Goss. "We believe this is an instance where an individual needs medical treatment."
The report says the man's lawyer told the police that the woman was not arrested at this time.
"We are aware that this investigation has been ongoing for several months," Goss said. "It is our hope that our office will have an opportunity to provide some additional background information to help address this matter and other questions we are having regarding this case."
